Well….I entered here because, from one day to another, I decide this career was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, and because I think anthropology is really fascinating, especially archaeology. Actually, archaeology is a kind of anthropology, but that has a different approach. The study’s object of anthropologists or archaeologists is the man or the human kind exactly. Their contribution for the society is to generate knowledge (about themselves) and try to give an answer for the lots of questions and problems of the society. Anthropologist’s tools are his logbook, his eyes, his knowledge about “the other” (this expression is used to designate the study´s object of the anthropologists, that is, the man than is different from him) and the initiative to know and interact with people and to share/live with them. He doesn’t need many artifacts, actually. Archaeologists, in the other way, need more tools. But, in general, their principal tools are theory and experience. Now, my favorite study’s subject are the ancient cultures, especially the biggest one: Egypt. But that is probably temporal, is like the big dream of every beginner student of archaeology, I think. Anyway, both (anthropologists and archaeologists) work with the “field studies”, and that, that's what I love to do.
